Total Elf Time...
The posts are slim because I am in total elf mode. I've assured all friends that if they come to the door, they may not enter. There are Christmas projects everywhere. It's a holiday obstacle course. I've finished 65 out of 75 glass ornaments. I've given up on 3 of the 23 scrapbooks. I'm still insanely optimistic about the other 20. I have one legwarmer knit and 51" of a manly scarf. Must go knit, knit, knit...

It's Panic Time!
I have 12 repeats of the pattern left on my husband's scarf. There are 22 ROWS IN EACH REPEAT. That's a problem. Someone needs to pass me another cupcake. I also still have the 23 scrapbooks looming over my head. Then there are the ornaments I'm supposed to make. Maybe if I drink a lot of coffee tomorrow I can make some progress.

Down to the wire...
The Christmas knitting has hit the point where there is a rigid schedule. Today I must knit 5" of x and 10" of z. Well, it's starting to pay off. I have three FO's for the weekend, the cashmere scarf, broken rib scarf and the legwarmers. I've also finished the knitting of one dragon mitten. That probably makes that gift 1/3 finished because of the emebellishing. I also have 1/3 of the Vintage Velvet Scarf finished. The schedule will be written to finish those items today. I can almost see the knitting finish line. I think I have a hat or two and maybe a manly scarf after that. Anything else is little extras that weren't planned to be made out of scrap yarn.

Today is my birthday!
My husband made me a new banner and my very own button for a gift. He also designed labels for all my handknit gifts. He's been covertly working on the project for awhile. He had been vague about the painting of the flowers when he was working on it. (His hobby is Chinese Brush Painting). He and the kids also picked out a cookie bouquet and Fannie Mae Candy. All in all, it was a nice birthday. I'm putting away the birthday and Christmas money my mom sent me to save for a wheel. I think my husband was a little stunned. I thought he asked me when I was going to spin. I answered, "Well, when I'm not knitting of course!" He clarified that he was asking where I was going to put it. Negotiations continue...

Warm Hands Update
After two false starts, I hope these are keepers. They are supposed to end up dragon mittens. I'm making plain mittens out of yarn I dyed with Easter egg dye. I'm planning on adding eyes, nose and some sharp pointy stuff on the head. They I'll probably get a metallic thread and scatter it through the stitches with duplicate stitching. Hopefully they will pass muster. Three year olds can be harsh critics.

Spunky had another great idea!
She is hosting the awards. You can click on the button to head on over to her blog and check it out. I can't wait until the nominations are posted with links so that I can find new homeschool blogs.
A big thank you to Ron of the comments for nominating my knitting blog for the homeschool arts blog award.
I nominated Siri's blog: Knitting Iris for Best Homeschool Photo blog.
