Clapotis was the 3rd knitting disaster of 06

I must average one of those a week. There were no mistakes, I loved knitting it, the gauge was correct. There was just one little problem. It was too stiff. It would work as the shawl thing, but I couldn't see it used as a scarf. Has anyone else had this problem? I think I need a much softer yarn. I may dye some knitpicks to use.
