I'm finished!

The yarn is Limbo Mexiko in Fjord from Stahl. Elann had it for about two days. I'm a bit bummed they are out. I really like it. It's DK wt and I knit the socks on size 3 dpn for about 6.5 sts per inch. Posted by Picasa

How much yarn did you use to make these socks? I've picked up two balls-it's lovely yarn and can't wait to use it. I'm just nervous about running about.

I used almost all of each ball. I have a size 7 1/2 foot and my feet are farely narrow. I did 7" then the heel. I only did about 2" of ribbing and then regular stockinette.

Oh-that's good to know! Thanks. My feet are a 6-so I should be covered then. How hard were the toe up socks? I thought they'd be awful with all those increases on the heal rather than decreases.

I had to take a class to do the toe up. I could not figure out how to pick-up the wraps. I even had help at my lys from the same person who taught the class this time. I think I couldn't see what I was doing on the yarn I used the first time. I've learned to use handpainted for a new technique. Usually the color changes every so many sts and if it doesn't pool, it gives really good stitch definition. That way I can see where I am in the pattern.
